Shaping the Table for Dog Agility
http://ptfordogs.blogspot.com/
http://www.pamsdogacademy.com
This video is about the shaping process and how to use it to teach your dog to down on the table for agility. This process will also help you build value for the table for your dog. If your dog earns a lot of reward and positive reinforcement for the table he will really love the table. Many dogs do not like the table because it is boring and they have not been shaped, molded to love it. Have fun with the equipment in agility and build value for each and every obstacle and your dog will be reinforced every time he is on the equipment!
Have a great day!
Thanks for watching!

well that’s why we …
we’re waiting on standard courses until Lance is solid on his contact criteria in many different environments.
well that’s why we have so far done games that have ONLY jumps and tunnels
But with Lance I also feel like I have much more lean way since even though he runs he still has corgi legs. When Vito gets old enough he’s going to need to be much more advanced then Lance since I will not be able to handle him without good distance skills, especially since he’s doing running contacts.

Thank you so much …
Thank you so much for the information! How is it going trialing with Lance? I can’t wait until Bandit is trialing. It is hard to wait for him to be 100% or close to it before trialing. I think he could do it now, but I want to make sure he has SOLID contacts he is much faster than me.

yes it would just …
yes it would just require the dog to be on the table for 5 seconds. I just started trialing with my first dog, Lance, so I’m not entirely keeping up on the proposed changes. but as far as i know this has been suggested and the meeting for all of the changes has been pushed back to april. (?)

I agree, I like the …
I agree, I like the down because it is easier for them to stay there in a down. A sit or stand they might just pop off. I have heard they are making new rules for the table, but I have not been trialing with Bandit yet, so I have not paid much attention to the rules yet. So, positionless means they can do whatever on the table they just have to stay there for 5 seconds?

I’m so happy with …
I’m so happy with the results so far of shaping the table for my 2 boys. both just LOVE the table now. Right now I’m working on them hitting it even when I keep running. And even if the table does go positionless I still think I want an automatic down on it.
Look forward to many more agility videos!
