Get a puppy pen for …
Get a puppy pen for your yard. Leave him in it (don’t let him see you) for 10 minutes. Sometimes young dogs have trouble going when they are on a leash.
As for the crate, put him in it and don’t talk to him when he’s there, except to offer a firm “you’re okay.’ He may scream for a while but he’ll settle down after a time and eventually not be afraid of the crate.
