What’s a good name for a hunting dog?
My friend is getting a puppy and training it to be a hunting dog. He needs a good short, aggressive name. Any suggestions?
He’s looking at getting a chocolate lab.
I dunno bout bird dog names but heres a list of hound names of dogs I have have owned or are owned by people in our hunting and outfitter group. theres bug, maggie, jiggs, sadie, raleigh, timber, smoke, soda, rizzo, panda, jasmine, ridge, shooter, ace, baby, bj, thor, hawk, otto, fido, max, mike, hazel, jake, becca, trouble, dan, ann, blaze, blade, axl, and finally carl

I have a yellow male, he answers to anything.
Depends on the sex of the dog.
I like the following:
Jake, Buck, Jack, Joe, Hank, Griz, Bear
The guy on Pheasant Forever TV has a Black he calls Raven,
Hershey (for either sex Chocolate)
for a danty female, Jenny, Candy, Brownie, Coffee, Cocoa,

The dog could be named BUCKSHOT.
After training, if the dog decides to not hunt, it could be given a load of its namesake, for its birthday

Every hunting dog I’ve ever owned has been named Buck.
You want a short name that’s easy to hear from a distance.
