Crate Training
This is a video published by Las Vegas K9 Training explaining a few common tips and tricks for getting a dog accustomed to a crate.
We make it a point to remind you that crate training is not a preventative method for nuisance behaviour like chewing, barking, or biting and can infact worsen these behaviours. A dog trained for a crate is generally just calmer and more patient – and, if you’re traveling, he’ll feel more comfortable sleeping in his crate than in a strange house. If your dog has serious behavioural problems, you should contact a professional trainer experienced in positive method training to best evaluate your dog.
Good luck, and remember – anyone can train!

Furry thief , DOG shop lifting, grabs Christmas present out of grocery store aisle
http://www.dietzel.com/partner/idevaffiliate.php?id=648
LOL its funny as a dog walking in to a store and stealing a bone
Murray, Utah — Some people just can’t wait to open their Christmas presents. That apparently was the case with a short and very fast thief who went to a store in Murray, grabbed a present and made a clean getaway on all fours.
At Smith’s Food & Drug in Murray, a popular place these days is the manager’s office, where they have the surveillance video. “You had to see to believe it, but it happened. So, it’s crazy,” said Tracy Jacobson, with Smith’s Food & Drug.
A suspicious character entered through the front door. “I’ve never seen him shop in here before; brand new customer, didn’t even have his Fresh Value card,” store manager Roger Adamson said.
What happened next is already becoming legend. “I mean, how likely is that? For a dog to walk into a store, go down the pet aisle, get his bone and walk out?” Jacobson said.
Let’s reconstruct the crime a step at a time: Entering at the checkout area, the dog approached a young girl. “He just kind of sniffed the customer up, and then headed down the aisle,” Adamson said.
At that point, he had a decision to make: Left? No dog food. Right? Dog food. He turned right and went straight to aisle 16, the dog food aisle.
There are so many fun Christmas presents he could have picked, but he seemed to know exactly what he was after. He grabbed a rawhide bone and headed down the aisle, only to be confronted by the manager.
“I looked at him. I said, Drop it!’” Adamson said. “I decided I wanted to keep all my fingers, so I didn’t try to take it from him. He looked at me, and I looked at him, and he ran for the door and away he went, right out the front door.”
Marshall Tanner with Alpha Dog Training says the culprit’s sense of smell is 100,000 times better than the typical crook.
“[He] smelled the rawhide bone, grabbed it and walked out of the store, thereby being a shoplifting dog!” Tanner said.
At last word, the dog was still at large, presumably enjoying his Christmas gift. “He’s enjoying the heck out of it,” Tanner said.
The value of that bone is $2.79. Merry Christmas, Balto, wherever you are!

Mixed-breed dog
A mixed-breed dog, also called a mutt, mongrel, tyke, cur, bitzer, feist or random-bred dog, is a dog that has characteristics of two or more types of breeds, or is a descendant of feral or pariah dog populations. The term “mixed-breed” is a misnomer, as it does not indicate the offspring of dogs of known or pure breeding. In contrast to mixed-breed, the term crossbreed refers to puppies produced by the intentional breeding of dogs of two different known purebred dog breeds. The term “mutt” or mixed-breed generally refers to a dog of unknown descent. Dogs interbreed freely, except where extreme variations in size exist, so mixed-breed dogs vary in size, shape, and color, making them hard to classify physically. There is a profusion of words and phrases used for dogs that are not purebred. The words cur, tyke, mutt and mongrel are used, sometimes in a derogatory manner. In the United Kingdom mongrel is the unique technical word for a mixed-breed dog. North Americans generally prefer the term mix or mixed-breed. Mutt is also used (in the U.S.A and Canada), and can be used in an affectionate manner. In Hawaii, mixed-breed dogs are referred to as poi dog, and in the Bahamas, they call them Pot Cakes (referring to the table-leftovers they are fed). Some American registries and dog clubs that accept mixed-breed dogs use the breed name All American. In South Africa, the tongue-in cheek expression pavement special is sometimes used as a description for a mixed-breed dog. Random-bred dog, mutt, and mongrel are often used for dogs who result from breeding without the supervision or planning of humans, especially after several generations, whereas crossbreed implies mixes of known breeds, sometimes deliberately mated. In Brazil and the Dominican Republic, the name for mixed-breed dogs is vira-lata (trash-can tipper) because there are dogs without owners that feed on urban garbage on the streets, and often knock over trash cans to reach the food.
In the Philippines, they are often called “askals”, a Tagalog-derived contraction of “asong kalye” or street dog.Slang terms are also common. Heinz 57 or Heinz is often used for dogs of uncertain ancestry, in a playful reference to the “57 Varieties” slogan of the H. J. Heinz Company. In some countries, bitsa (or bitzer) is common, meaning “bits o’ this, bits o’ that”. A fice or feist is a small mixed-breed dog. In Newfoundland, a smaller mixed-breed dog is known as a cracky, hence the colloquial expression “saucy as a cracky” for someone with a sharp tongue. To complicate matters, many owners of crossbreed dogs identify them—often facetiously—by an invented breed name constructed from parts of their parents’ breed names. These are known as portmanteau names. For example, a cross between a Pekingese and a Poodle is called a Peekapoo, possibly a play on peek-a-boo, along with the Goldendoodle, a cross between a poodle and a golden retriever. As another example, one of the UK’s Queen Elizabeth II’s famous Corgis mated with her sister’s Dachshund, and the resulting offspring were referred to as Dorgis.
