Volunteers give new life to neglected animals
After being born into a life dictated by an alleged puppy mill operator, a dozen Golden Retrievers were ailing, underfed, dirty and foul-smelling from living in their own filth. When they were confiscated by the city last November, some were fearful and unaware of human kindness.
